Loose bindoff

Binding off with the regular tension of your knitting tends to pull in the knitting at the bound off edge. If you want the bound off edge of your knitting to be the same width as the body of your knitting, use a loose bindoff.

When you might use a loose bindoff—
When you have picked up stitches from your knitting and worked an edging outward. This could be at the bottom of a sweater or sleeve, or the border of a blanket.
When you are working the body of a sweater sideways and you are binding off for a side seam or front edge.

1. Work first stitch as you normally would.
2. Work next stitch BUT leave it on the left needle.
3. Pass the second stitch over the first stitch and slip both off needle.

Repeat from step 2.
