Adding new yarn in middle of row

Use this method to add yarn in the middle of a row.  In the picture, a different color of yarn has been used to show the new yarn being added.

Knit until you have 6 or 8” of first yarn left, enough to run in the end.

Lay a new length of yarn across your knitting on the same side as the old yarn, but with the end facing in the opposite direction; allow enough to run in the end.

Hold the yarns together and knit 2 stitches with both yarns.

Drop the old yarn and continue knitting with the new yarn.

When you knit back over these 2 stitches, be sure that you work the two yarns together.
